Heavy Security Measures In Place For METALLICA's Bogota Concert

March 10, 2010

According to Colombia Reports, some 1,500 police will be employed to stand guard at the site during tonight's (Wednesday, March 10) METALLICA concert in Bogota's Simon Bolivar park, as well as four tanks and several police trucks, reported El Espectador.

Authorities will also be closing the streets surrounding the park and restricting entry of under-14s, pregnant women, those under the influence of alcohol or drugs and those carrying weapons.

The San Francisco heavy metal giants arrived in the Colombian capital, along with 70 tons of speakers, lights and screens — everything that is necessary for a spectacular show.
